Paul On Trial – Chapter 9

I want to take a short break from discussing Paul. The following is a grouping of scripture, to present a gospel message, from the gospel of the kingdom of God.

“And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin who was espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for you have found favor with God and, behold, you shall conceive in your womb,  and bring forth a son, and shall call his name JESUS. Then Mary said unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, the Holy Ghost shall come upon you, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow you: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of you shall be called the Son of God.” (Luke 1:26,27,30,31,34,35).

But while he thought on these things, behold the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, son of David, fear not to take unto you Mary your wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a Son, and you shall call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all of this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, Behold a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: and knew her not until she had brought forth her first born Son: and he called his name JESUS.” (Matthew 1:20-25).

“And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for him at the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flocks by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a savior, which is Christ the Lord. (Luke 2;7-11).

“And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him. And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law, then he took him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, Lord, now let your servant depart in peace, according to your word: for my eyes have seen your salvation; which you have prepared for before the face of all people; a light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel. (Luke 2:25-32).

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:1, 14).

“The next day John saw Jesus coming unto him, and said, Behold the lamb of God, which takes away the sins of the world.” (John 1:29).

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus said unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a man be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto you, you must be born again. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; that the world through him might be saved. He that believes on him shall not be condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (John 3;3-7,14-18).

“And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them, behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him unto the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him, and the third day he shall rise again.”(Matthew 20:17-19).

“And  when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take. And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.” (Mark 15:24-25).

“This man went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulcher that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid.” (Luke 23:52-53).

“Saying the Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon. And as they thus spoke, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and said unto them, Peace be unto you. But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen a spirit. And he said unto them, Why are you troubled? And why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold my hands and my feet, that it is myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit has not flesh and bones, as you see me have. And when he had thus spoken, he showed them his hands and his feet.” (Luke 24:34,36-39).

“He that has my commandments and obeys them, he it is that loves me: and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. If a man loves me, he will obey my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our home with him. He that loves me not obeys not my sayings: and the word which you hear is not mine, but the Father which sent me.” (John 14:21,23,24).

“And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they might have right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, sorcerers, and whore-mongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loves and makes a lie.”(Revelation 22:12-15).

“Now when they heard this they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter, and the rest of the apostles, men and brethren, what shall we do? Then said Peter unto them, Repent, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, save yourselves from this untoward generation. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.” (Acts 2:37-41).

“And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write: these things says the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God: I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot: I would that you were cold or hot: so then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of my mouth. Because you say , I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing: and know not that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel you to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that you may be rich: and white raiment that you may be clothed, and that the shame of your nakedness do not appear: and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore and repent. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come into him, and sup with him, and he with me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” (Revelation 3: 14-22).
