Did Jesus declare all meats were clean in Mark 7:19? Is Jesus an apostate? The final answer.

Jul 16, 2022

Video Description

The KJV is not a problem this time. It reads correctly:

19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?” (Mark 7:19 KJV.)

The issue aries in the NIV, and every major Bible out there other than ISV and WEB (among the Bibles listed on biblehub.com)

19 For it doesn’t go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body.” (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean.) (Mark 7:19)

If Jesus said this, Jesus would be an apostate, and cannot be the Messiah. So this translation must be absolutely accurate to explain why Chrisitan publishers would put this out. What is the law on apostasy -- it is Deuteronomoy 13:1-3. It reads in pertinent part:

"If there arise among you a prophet,…, and gives you a sign or a wonder. 2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them 3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, … : for the Lord your God proves you, to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul."

If Jesus said what the NIV says He said, Jesus is disqualified because His God cannot be the God of the Bible. Why?

Yahweh said the Law is “eternal for all generations” -- a statement repeated 11 times: Ex. 27:21; 30:21; Lev. 6:18; 7:36; 10:9; 17:7; 23:14, 21, 41; 24:3; Num. 10:8.

The true Jesus said the Law would continue until the Heaven and Earth passed away, so Jesus would not consciously apostasize, would He, as Mark 7:19 makes him appear to do so?

This is a completely modern phenomenon, as no English Bible until apparently the RV used first in the last 1800s..

The only textual reason to say this is if the katharizon in the sentence --- a present participle active -- nominative masculine -- were mismatched to the word for draught / latrine in gender -- as if it were neuter. In that case, the verb would need a masculine subject, like Jesus talking. But it turns out the word for latrine -- aphedrona -- is indeed masculine, contrary to what the first who added these words thought. Hence, it is in "aposition" -- connected, and makes perfect sense.

So the KJV reading is right -- it went into the draught / latrine, purging all meats thereby -- being cleansed away by the sewer system.
