Paul in 1 Cor. 14 describes 'tongues' to mean unintelligible sounds, and no on understands normally. Paul says only speak in tongues in church if there is an interpreter. This person can translate the grunts and sounds.
Before Paul went to Corinth for a long visit, Paul was followed by the Python Priestess of Philippi. She said Paul was teaching "a way of salvation from the Lord on High (which for her means Zeus). Paul enjoyed this popular demon's endorsement for "many days." Yet, Paul became grieved, and then cast a demon her out of her. See Acts 16::16-18.
So what does the glossalia of the Python have in common with how Paul described glossalia for himself personally and for his followers at Corinth. It is an exact match of the tongues of the Python. She spoke in excited utterances in a trance - -ektasia - and nothing she said was comprehensible. Her words were 'translated; by one of 2 priests, and then prrovided to the customer seeking her prophecy.
Did Paul get her demon from her during this encounter? Is he glossalia demon talk from the very beginning? Yes, it is too uncannly similar.
