Our chapter 1 of Jesus' Words on Salvation - Heaven Maimed or Hell Whole for a "believer in me" is at this url: https://www.jesuswordsonly.org/books/...
SYNOPSIS OF VIDEO
Three times Jesus teaches Christians have two choices: we can go to heaven maimed of those parts causing us to sin, or hell whole. Mark 9:42-47; Matthew 18:6, 8-10; Matt 5:29. This destroys faith alone. This destroys eternal security. Most often this passage is dismissed as only applicable to a bygone dispensation to the Jews. Once rejected, Jesus and Yahweh went to plan B - easy believism to gather as many people as possible to "Jesus."
When I asked an elder whether we still had to obey this, he said that this verse belonged to another dispensation. We need no longer concern ourselves for these messages. I found out much later there is a doctrine of dispensationalism that said we did not have to listen to Jesus any more, but only Paul, who Jesus authorized to displant Jesus.
This dispensationalism movement re-launched in 1922 with Bultmann in Germany, and later with Albert Schweitzer. The verse they relied upon was Paul's words in 2 Cor. 5:16 which reads:
16 Wherefore we henceforth know no man after the flesh: even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more.
So we no longer need to know anything about the teachings of Jesus because Paul says "we know him so [in the Jesus who walked in flesh on earth] no more" -- supposedly.
Luther had a similar idea denigrating even Jesus compared to Paul as Jesus supposedly lacked an understanding on the Law which Paul only supposedly got right. Luther explained in his Preface of the NT from 1522-1544:
“There is no man living on Earth Who knows how to distinguish between The law and the gospel … even the man Jesus Christ was so wanting in Understanding when he was in the vineyard that an angel had to console him though he was a doctor from heaven he was strengthened by the angel.” (Luther, Luther Works 54, 127.)
However, in 1545, Luther one year before he died ordered this paragraph struck from the preface of the NT he had written in 1522. Swan explains:
"the paragraph was suppressed in the last edition of his Prefaces to the New Testament in 1545.") "It was Luther himself who edited these comments out." (James Swan, "Six Points on Luther's Epistle of Straw," Aomin.org (2007).)
