1 Thess. 4:16-17 promises a rapture out of earth will spare us any challenges, according to what most Christians believe. [The opening 60 seconds has the cite to Tim.; it should be Thess.] It reads:
16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
However, Christ's actual plan is different
Jesus in Revelation conveys an Angel who declares the "eternal gospel." We read in Rev. 14:6-7:
14:6 Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead, with an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people. 7 And he said with a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come, and worship him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water.” (ESV).
Do Christian Gentiles by attaching themselves to Messiah from Tribe of Judah belong to any tribe ourselves (unless cast outside for enumerated sins Jesus identifies, e.g., worthless servant?)
Paul – so-called ‘apostle to gentiles’ – says we are ‘grafted’ in, but never explains any tribal status we enjoy.
The clue to the answer is in three passages that relate to the 144,00.
[1] Rev. 3:12 Jesus says those who endured patiently, He will “write on” those “the name of my God” and “my new name.”
[2] Rev. 7:3-4 Angels put seal on 144,000’s “forehead” of “servants of God” to protect from “hurt” angels are about to bring to earth.
[3] Rev. 14:1 Christ returns. John says the 144,000 are at Mt. Zion (Jerusalem) when Jesus returns to earth, and they all have “his name” and the “Father’s name” on their “forehead.”
The Evil raptured later in Rev. 14.
There are 2 more pertinent aspects about the 144,000:
[1] Rev. 14:4 those 144,000 with Jesus at Mt. Zion and endured were characterized as “following the Lamb wherever he leads” This is distinct from Goats / Foolish Virgins in Parable of Sheep v Goats and Parable of the Wise vs Foolish Virgins.
[2] Rev. 14:6: After Christ returned in Rev. 14:1, the “eternal gospel” (“fear God and worship the creator”) is preached once more including to Christians who did not get sealed because they were not “following the Lamb wherever He leads.” --- Same as goats who called him Lord but did no charity in Parable of the Goats.
What is the eternal gospel ?
"Fear God and ... worship" God as creator.
Jesus preached like this -- to "fear God" if you should deny him, for He can cast your body and soul into hell. In Luke 12:5, we read:
"But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him."
Paul says the opposite. Just believe Jesus died, was buried, and resurrected, and you "shall" be saved. (1 Cor. 15:1-4.)
