Is “Worship” Sometimes Fraudulently Translated Toward Jesus In NT?

Aug 5, 2022

Video Description

Is the worship toward Jesus proof that Jesusiw God? Or the interpretation of a translator skewing the translation from "bow the knee," or "kneel' into the word "worship" because that would prove the Trinity is reflected in the Bible?''

The answer is obvious. On screen, we show you how to prove this yourself. I explain how o search Mounce's online concordance .... here is the concordance for proskineo:

https://www.billmounce.com/greek-dictionary/proskyneo

There are 9 times proskineo is translated other than as "worship," and either as "knelt," "bowed down," or "prostrate," etc.

A leper came up to him, knelt (prosekynei Matt 8:12

As he was saying these things a ruler came and bowed (prosekynei ) Matt 9:18

Then she came and knelt (prosekynei Matt 15:25

So the servant fell to the ground prostate (prosekynei Matt 18:26

Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to Jesus with her sons, and kneeling (proskynousa Matt 20:20

But when he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and bowed (prosekynēsen Mark 5:6

And they kept striking his head with a staff and spitting on him; and falling to their knees, they paid (prosekynoun Mark 15:19

Then the man said, “I believe, Lord,” and he bowed (prosekynēsen John 9:38

Behold, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who claim to be Jews and are not, but lie — I will make them come and bow down (proskynēsousin Rev. 3:9

This proves conclusively that translators are ADDING a meaning that a Greek reader would not recognize applies to Jesus without the spin of the translator manipulating the reader - - worship. Thus translators are often conveying something which the translator has no prerogative to assume meant the person kneeling before Jesus thought Jesus was God, or worthy of worship other than as a king which is properly rendered as "homage" (to whom 'worship' was allowed in the book of Chronicles to david).
