We have already done vides on these verses in John's Gospel:
John 1:12 – those who “obeyed unto his name have the right (exousia) to the tree of life.” (Marvin Vincent)
John 3:16 – those who “obey unto him [Son] should have eternal life” [NIV Theological Dictionary; Marvin Vincent; Grimm; etc.]
John – 35 more times translated as “believe in” = “obey unto” linked to eternal life.
John 15:5 - “not keep abiding /staying in me,” thrown “outside” to be “burned.”
Several other verses to know how to use speak clearly:
John 8:51 – “Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys [tereo] my word [logos, teachings, principles] will never see death.” NIV, NLT., GNT, etc. Cf. KJV, ASV, ESV
John 5:28-29 - “Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good [deeds], unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil [deeds], unto the resurrection of damnation.” KJV et al
Then there are the issue of passages like John 10:27-28 that is mistranslated, as we covered in our video on Prof. Moody. This is review, so you are ready to discuss with Paulinists.
